Annika Sorenstam is a very smart woman. Extremely smart. Aside from the fact that she has several business ventures and is a millionare several times over, Annika isn't saying that she's retiring from the game she loves, just taking a break. She's leaving the door open just slightly to possibly come back and play again in a few years. She's seen what Michael Jordan, Mario Lemieux, and Brett Favre have done in recent years. All men who thought they were done only to come back in their sport and dominate it once again. Who's to say that Annika won't do the same thing at some point down the line. She's done everything you can possibly do in this game and succeed. She shot a 59 in a round, played in a PGA event, and has won every major on the LPGA tour. She's only 38, what is she planning on doing with the rest of her life? The same thing she has done on the golf course, be successful and win in the game of life. So take some time to enjoy Sorenstam this weekend, because while she may be retiring, you may not see her again anytime soon to fully appreciate the legend in our backyard.
