If you could pick any job in the world to have, what would you want to be? An actor? A Rock Star? Hmmm....being a professional golfer isn't so bad. Out in the sunshine, playing golf everyday. Some would consider that to be retirement. Hitting the links everyday with some friends for the chance to make money. Too bad I can't golf because if I could or was even good enough wouldn't it be awesome to be able to make that your fulltime job? The money on tour is great, sponsorships are even better, and the perks are the best.
Yes, there's lots of travel and you don't really hangout in the city you're playing in. You're merely practicing 24/7 and are married to the course that you're playing on. Like all jobs, there are pitfalls to them. But you would have to think that for the most part, playing on the Champions Tour would have to be the best job of all. Guys, who are already retired, are extending their career making money by doing something they would be doing anyway, but now they're getting some extra cash to stash away. So think of this, if you're reading this and you haven't hit 50 yet, get out on the links, practice your long game, and short game and then try and get in the game because you can chase that dream and still get that dream job.
