Welcome to the start of the 2007 hurricane season, and my very first blog entry. I hope you enjoy the blog.
This was one of the busier days this week(and I've had many lately). By 11AM is was in Clear Channel studios on 45th st. voicing some hurricane promotions that will run through the season. You'll hear these on Real Radio, Cool 105.5, and Wild 95.5 during the next few months. Jim Edwards worked with me on a few of them. They have a quality crew there so everything went smoothly.
Then down to the Palm Beach Convention Center by Noon for another hurricane seminar. This was for the Non Profit Organizations of Palm Beach County. About 300 people turned out. This is a wonderful conference put on by John Foley. His wife then interviewed me for a piece she is writing on my charity work, in particular the Red Cross Ride.
Oh, the Ride. It starts Monday in Sebastian and continues down the coast during the week, ending in Boca Raton on Friday.. This will hopefully be the last year with this format. We plan on a one day century ride next year.
After the interview is went into the station. I knew this was going to be a busy afternoon, since heavy rain has been in my forecast all week. But busy turned into VERY busy about 4:30, when the tropical disturbance was upgraded to TS Barry, which requires me to prepare an entirely new set of graphics, with coordinates, tracks, winds, expected conditions,..All in 30 minutes.
Barry continues to look like a rain maker for us, and no damaging winds. A wet start to the month and to Hurricane Season.
Enjoy the rain!
